Why MeaningsCheck
The answer in the first sentence — every single time.
Most slang-definition sites bury the answer under ad units, autoplay videos, and paragraphs of filler before they tell you what a word actually means. We built MeaningsCheck to do the opposite: the direct answer comes first, always, then just enough context to understand how a term is actually used.
We write these ourselves, in plain language, and keep them accurate rather than padded — no invented statistics, no exaggerated claims about how “everyone” uses a phrase. If a term genuinely has more than one common meaning, like ASL, we say so plainly instead of picking whichever one sounds more interesting.
Language keeps moving, so this site will keep growing — new terms as they become common, and edits to existing ones if usage shifts. Nothing here is meant to be the final word, just a fast, honest starting point.
